If the first author of a poster or talk is unable to attend the meeting because of unforeseen circumstances (e.g., lack of funds, medical emergency, family issues), the author can request that another author on the paper present instead. This substitute presenter must be registered for the meeting. Alternatively, the abstract can be withdrawn. The first author must notify SPSP in writing stating the reason for the substitution or withdrawal. Send all such notifications to .
Abstracts withdrawn or not presented at the meeting will not be published in the proceedings. If you fail to notify SPSP of your withdrawal, or you do not show up for your scheduled presentation, future submissions may be in jeopardy. In addition, if multiple requests for withdrawal or substitution are made by the same individual within a 3-year time span, approval from the convention committee will be required to grant the request and both the first author and the substitute presenter will be required to register for the convention.
